Peter Serafinowicz does a fine job in the Amazon series, but whenever I think of the Tick I’m pretty sure I’ll always think of Warburton. He got everything about the character right.

I think it would be really interesting for him to be a lefty-hipster teenager (the kind who asks his banker dad to buy an old volvo instead of a new car) who slides into fascism and violence with the temptation of power.

That’s a very good point. While there have been hundreds of Jump protagonists and many with wildly different characteristics. At the time though, you’re right, Jump was dominated by the Nakama-genre and Light is a fun couterpoint to that.

One of the biggest tensions in the original works is that the kid who is a model of Japanese societal success turns into a mass-murderer almost instantaneously after being given the power to kill anonymously. Oh great. Because why would I want to be able to follow TV reviews without scrolling for a minute and a half? Separate sections for delineated content is sooooooooo 2014.
