This is really the most legit reason I’ve seen for not remaking it with women. I may not necessarily agree with it (actually, I’m completely uninterested in the remake or the original) but this makes a lot more sense than most of the arguments I’ve read for why it shouldn’t be remade.

You can “think I’m wrong”, but the end logic of what you suggest is that by denying the womanhood of trans women, TERFs are somehow attacking men - and it’s simply not the case. Trans women aren’t men, and attacking trans women is not and can never be misandry for that precise reason. Trans women are women. TERFs…

TERFs aren’t attacking trans women out of a case of mistaken identity, they’re attacking them specifically because of a known facet of their identity. It’s not misandry, it’s transmisogyny.

I am not a transgender woman. No one is claiming that trans and cis women’s experiences are exactly the same. Trans women do face significantly higher rates of sexual assault, murder, and suicide than cis women. Which are issues that feminists generally care about, the sexual assault, murder, and suicide of women.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain that. And I am, and was, totally sympathetic. I consider myself a feminist and an ally of all oppressed people. Whether or not I can fully grasp their situations, I think all people should be able to be who they are without fear of discrimination or intimidation.
