Got the battery holder sewn today! (I think the transparent thread tends to be too hard to see in thick/fuzzy materials-- what it seems to best for is simple cloth applique where the cloth has a pattern and you don’t want to see the stitching against it— so I used some more or less matching purple thread.)

It’s basically a monofilament like fishing line. Ever tried tying a knot in fishing line? How about when it’s as thin as sewing thread!?

Still trying to work the kinks out of the battery holder for the merit badge. Felt, being soft and stretchy, sometimes means the conductive thread sewn on it doesn’t make consistent contact with the battery. I suspect if I sewed the holder completely shut with the battery inside that would reduce the problem, but…

How have you managed to avoid putting poison in her coffee?
