My father-in-law got polio just before the Salk vaccine was developed. He was on crutches pretty much all his life (and is in a wheelchair now ‘cause his rotator cuffs are just plain worn out the way hip joints can go on seniors).

Has anyone here seen The Alphabet Murders? My impression was that it was sort of iffy among many Poirot fans because Frank Tashlin, as a comedy director, added a fair bit of slapstick to the proceedings. (I also just read he wanted Zero Mostel as Poirot and I’m having a really hard time imagining it!)
