Finney was a bit too loud in the voice (plus he was trying to sort of scrunch his head down to look less rangy-- now it remind me of Christopher Lloyd when he played Uncle Fester!), but I’ll give him this: the scene where he’s preparing for bed (complete with mustache guard) was bang on.
