Or my favourite method is to take a butter knife or spoon, insert it below one of the screw "fingers" of the lid and lift. This lets in air and breaks the seal without rubberbands, water or what else. So easy, an 8 year old learned the trick from me and is prancing around, showing people, getting them out of a pickle…
