The joke with always sunny is that they’re all terrible and people don’t put up with their nonsense, and its fictional. Its funny to watch them get theirs and have their plans blow up in their faces. Take Dennis’ whole, “the implication” speech. If Dennis just came out and said, death to women, no one would laugh.

If Pewdiepie were a scripted character who had been established for years as a separate identity from Felix Kjellberg then *maybe* he could argue it was some kind of bizarre satire.

“Hahahah I paid these guys to say something horrible LAUGH AT THEM WITH ME!” isn’t a joke. It’s being an asshole by proxy.

Being offended is a choice.

It’s also acceptable to see Trumps rise to power as the consequence of PC culture getting too aggressive.

That’s not a joke. That’s counting on someone to not be as big an asshole as you are and then blaming them when you’re found out to be an asshole.

I think the joke fell flat because the context was that he, a billionaire, paid two impoverished men to hold up a sign they had no idea said something offensive just so said billionaire could cause she shock value for the sake of shock value. Shock humor in and of itself isn’t funny, it’s the context and skill that

The racy jokes in Blazing Saddles were all about punching upwards. The racists were racist...but presented as idiots. We laughed *at* them because of how racist they were. We could sympathize with the sheriff and laugh with him as he attempted to get along in that world.

It is absurd to complain about people getting offended when the entire purpose of what was said is to offend people. It’s either dishonest or stupid.

You’re totally ignoring that he chose to offend someone. These are just the consequences.

He chose to use a racist slur. He did it specifically because it was offensive. If it wasn’t offensive, he wouldn’t have thought it was funny. He can’t get upset that people are offended.

How “anti-PC” comedians view themselves:

See, that’s what gets me. Felix could’ve come up with something else that would be “edgy” or whatever for those guys to put on a sign, but instead he chose “kill all the Jews.” He could’ve had them write, “Prostate Exams: Free or Best Offer” or “Goat hand jobs $2" or something. But he went with the Jews thing. What

Ironic Nazis are still Nazis.

It’s all a matter of being funny. Mel Brooks can tell a joke that Gilbert Gottfried couldn’t. Everybody thinks they are George Carlin or Bill Hicks.

Just a friendly reminder for everyone... The context of PewDiePie’s anti-semitic video is:

So a dude with more money than most people see in their lives chose to take advantage of economically-disadvantaged individuals for the sake of some anti-Semitic “humor,” and is now surprised that there are consequences that go with that kind of behavior.

Got it.

Having read some of the comments on the previous article

I’m a literal professional comedian. I’m not sure you have any idea what comedy is about. Putting Anti-Semitism on stuff without any sort of context isn’t a joke

Yes, in addition to the antisemitism watching impoverished people do anything for small amounts of money was also hilarious.

This joke has context. And entire movie’s worth of context.
