This is a compliance car, nothing more, so it needs to be viewed through that lens. I’m always reminded that FCA lost something like $8k on every Fiat 500e they sold.

It’s a great word.
The Bolt, until the current supply crunch, typically sold at a discount from msrp.
Nothing with butterfly doors is ever the “non douchiest” anything, except the Toyota Sera and maybe the Autozam AZ-1. It’s still a good choice.
Bob, do you own a BMW? You haven’t mentioned it before.
“It’s kinda odd to me for him to demand”
I kind of forget about the Soul/Kona, but that’s fair. But Erik always trots out a $25k EV, which is untenable, but before the current issues the Bolt sold at that price all day.
Agreed. The Bolt is the second-most affordable EV behind the Leaf, and only by a few $k. Sure, that’s not nothing money for most people, but pointing out the two most expensive EVs that GM makes and then claiming they don’t make inexpensive EVs is just willful ignorance.
It’s a bit funny, given that for a few model years pretty much every Fit was recalled due to a critical safety issue caused by a supplier’s faulty part (Takata airbags).
I think GM must’ve ruined his birthday at some point.
He mentions the Bolt, and that it was recalled, though he elides that it was LG’s fault, of course. And does mention that GM wants to build their own batteries but doesn’t put together the why that may be the case.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy one without the obligatory steer horns on the front.
I think his hatred for GM makes him blind to the car’s existence. For how much he loves his Fit, the Bolt is basically the Fit of the BEV word (assuming the updated battery packs are ironed out).
“Please just make one (1) affordable EV, GM. I’ll buy it, I promise.”
Now I’m thinking of several drivethrus in my downtown area and someone beaching this car on the narrow curbs like the Ever Given
OK, you can be the guy that loosens anything that needs loosening.
