Yeah, credit reporting always goes so smoothly. No one has EVER had to dispute something on their credit report. Not one time in the history of credit reporting has something gone wrong. Especially when the government is involved. This program will run 100% smoothly with no mistakes.

Not only airlines. Casino operators are looking for the taxpayer to cover their losses. Ironic for an industry whose business model is “Lost all your money with us? Yeah, well tough shit.”

I feel so much better having heard that. He wouldn’t even think of enriching himself, relatives and cronies, especially if Mnuchin gets his way and the legislation allows for at least a six month delay in reporting of where the money went.

That is AOC’s position: Hand out cash now. Tax it back from the high income people later.

How are Uber and Lyft going to continue losing massive amounts of money if they can’t do business? This is a disaster!

With the increasing frequency of pandemics do you think the new urbanist ideals of more density and more public transportation is really a good one? Personally it makes me want to buy a jeep and move to Wyoming.

I’m all for more accountability in this relief bill and restrictions on how much bail out money for large corporations, but why do we need gender equality quotas in business and environmental regulations to help people deal with this COVID-19 crisis?

Freeze everything.

If you give a low income person a cash bailout, they will spend it, not invest it. I would bet that every penny gets put back into the economy virtually immediately, in one way or another.

I don't think you understand what this is proposing.  This is basically saying that you wouldn't have to explain missing those payments. The records will still exist within the bank owning your loan but they wouldn't be allowed to report it as an overdue payment to equifax or the other agencies.

The same idiots that said if they gave a handout to the average citizen, everyone would become lazy and stop working; also voted to give unrestricted and untraceable funding to some of the largest corporations in the US and minimal support to the state and health care systems we need right now.

I agree.

Of course neither side can just say “we need to agree to send cash relief to our citizens, amounts based on (insert criteria)”, and end it there. Both sides have to add 10000 other items to argue over.

Man, this is a strange setup. It reminds me sort of a lute, or a lyre, or one of those old, archaic stringed instruments I’ve seen in Renaissance paintings.

It’s super lengthy, but there definitely has renters in there. banning on foreclosure along with rent assistance.

I spent 17 years on the street as a volunteer paramedic. A well-built ambulance is beefed up quite a bit to hold all of the crap that you need out on the street. Electricals, especially, are the biggest you can get.

Commenting on a car enthusiast site where 99% (++) of on-road vehicles are based on Dino juice and attacking a writer for writing about, you know, the goddamned truth, is a little obtuse, no?

This is Jalopnik. Here you imagine that the world is covered in anti-seize and you don’t want to get it on you.

See this is why everybody should own 7 cars, one for every day of the week. By the time you rotate back to car #1, any coronavirus should be long dead. No disinfection required.

My Ferrari disinfects itself - those Italians think of everything!
