Sigh.
Sigh.
I’ve WFH for 4 years now, doing a job that I would have quit 5 times over if I were forced to go into an office.
“The factory had at least one case of coronavirus and 23 workers in quarantine”
If that were true, the regulations would never have been necessary.
All chaps are assless , because otherwise they would be pants.
These folks drive these trucks for a profession. They’re smart enough to know when they’re too tired to keep going and should get off the road.
“There are 28 year old cheerios and goldfish holding most of the interior together.”
They didn’t even give the fucking State Department a heads up. They’re incredibly incompetent.
Agreed. Crisis is our new form of entertainment, and the 9/11 response is largely to blame (the media). That was a key turning point where we needed info, the internet was starting to mature, and news became all about ratings. A bad combo.
The reality is that America wasn’t prepared, because we chose not to be. In 2018, Trump’s administration cut the pandemic response team, and sent Rear Admiral Ziemer packing. He wasn’t replaced.
David, this is a 30 year old Chrysler product in a salt state. There are 28 year old cheerios and goldfish holding most of the interior together, the transmission is shot, and it has the safety of.....a 30 year old Chryler product. Only one side has a sliding door.
Airport workers just aren’t showing up for their shifts. And probably rightly so, since the higher ups are just fucking morons. There is incompetence everywhere and this virus is exposing it all. Employees coming in contact with possibly sick passengers without protective gear?
Not an issue. He said “the van isn’t completely covered in rust”.
That’s not how it works. The immunities you’ve built up don’t transfer over. Your immunities are very specific. That’s why your flu vaccine may not work for next year’s strain. That’s why your measles vaccine doesn’t protect your from meningitis. That’s why your eating dirt as a kid doesn’t protect you from the…
(I find it insulting that you blame the news. I haven’t watched a news program of any kind for years.)
There were two flu pandemics in the last century, three if you go back to the 1890s. This looks more like those than the seasonal flu, especially since we’re don’t even know the extent yet. Saying this loss just like a bad seasonal flu is ignorant, at best. The seasonal flu doesn’t overwhelm hospitals, which has…
Stop it. You are spreading the astoundingly dangerous notion that this is no or not much worse than flu and it’s okay to go about one’s life. It’s not.
The flu is a mostly stable event each year. This is not. Comparing the two is a category error until there is a viable and available vaccine for this. This appears to be more deadly in terms of the populations it affects. It just hasn’t gotten everywhere yet.
The flu doesn’t send 20% of its infected to the hospital for severe complications, and the flu doesn’t cause China to build 4 temporary hospitals in an emergency scram every year.
