Yep, the best starter project car is a car that doesn’t actually need much beyond basic maintenance items to start. Learn to do all the basic maintenance (some of which is moderately involved) to hone your skills. If it’s an older car, eventually something will break and you’ll have to fix it. Just keeping an old car

From what I understand, the corruption in our military is a little more nuanced. Instead of flat-out stealing the money, military contractors will bid unrealistically low to get the contract, then run way over budget so that in the end they make way more than they should have. They’ve also started tacking on

Nobody in politics exists in isolation. Putin stays in power because a lot of powerful people support him, for various reasons including money. If he loses that support he will be vulnerable.

Like I said, I’m not expecting that to happen. It’s just the only sort-of-good possible outcome of this whole disaster.

That’s the speculation I’ve heard as well. They have a massive military budget, but it all got embezzled by the oligarchs.

You say part-time, but then you complain about problems that don’t exist in part-time systems. There’s no slip in a part-time system, when engaged they are locked completely. That’s why you can’t engage them on dry pavement.

I dunno, clothing sizes are notoriously unreliable. A couple of years ago I bought a 2XL shirt from a store and it fit well, but was a little short. I went back and bought a 2XL Tall of the same shirt, and it was a tent (but long enough, so yay?).

Are you sure about that? From what I’m hearing about their military equipment, 1986 might be on the newer end of the technology scale. Just because they theoretically had access to it doesn’t mean they took advantage of that.

The only possible happy-ish outcome of this is if Putin and all his cronies end up in jail for war crimes and an actual free election is held to replace him.

What did the previous owner do before you got it? There was clearly some structural damage there too that looks like it got banged back into place.

Nuclear power has resulted in fewer deaths than any other widely available power generation source we have available today. See this video at around 5:40:

I think you mean full-time AWD. The part-time systems are usually a real mechanical lockup when you engage them, which is why they’re only able to be used part-time.

“part of this information involved the possible consequences of not racing, such as how easily teams and drivers would be able to leave the country if the race did not happen.”

I fully support Jalopnik finding new ways to make money that are not slideshows or wildly inaccurate clickbait headlines, but can you please make it clear when an article is a repost? The little footnote at the bottom is not all that helpful.

They’re not good car movies, but from 5 on they became good action/superhero (seriously, they have to be superhuman to do some of that stuff) movies that happen to involve a lot of cars.

Not only is the car chase long and boring, but it has no stakes for me because I can’t stand any of the characters. One is a serial killer, the others essentially sold their friend to be raped so they could joyride in some guy’s car. The only thing that could have redeemed the movie is if the ending was both cars and

    Glad to hear it!
