I have a coworker who posted a video of her doing a pole dancing class. I was definitely feeling some irrational guilt while watching it. :-)

half the time the climate control is inadequate so you’re either roasting or freezing depending on the season.
The ending of Dead Alive is a cinematic masterpiece! They set a record for most blood...oh, I see what you mean. ;-)
I agree it is way too expensive to replace sensors. I’ve gotten around that by buying a cheap external TPMS and ignoring the built-in one. It isn’t a perfect solution, but the drawbacks are worth avoiding the hundreds of dollars it would cost to replace the 50 cent sensors.
I think this part of the bill is wishful thinking. As pointed out here, the technology does not exist to implement this and likely won’t anytime soon. I’m not going to lose any sleep over something I don’t think will ever be implemented for real. Wake me up when they have an actual concrete proposal for this.
TPMS isn’t just a replacement for checking tire pressures before a trip (although it’s very convenient for that too). It’s about warning you if you run over a nail on the highway and develop a slow leak, which is not something you can catch with a regular tire gauge.
The big problem with AR in a car is that proper placement depends on your head position, but with all of the driver assist systems requiring eye tracking to make sure the driver is awake that might not be such an impediment anymore.
Smart stop lights would significantly reduce my road rage too. It is infuriating to watch a light turn green in a direction where there are no cars while I and a dozen of my closest non-acquaintances sit on a busy road waiting for our turn to go.
The ad claims these are all inexpensive to fix
I found the line about not taking a Forester on those roads particularly amusing. I’d be willing to bet a Forester on decent wheels and tires is better off road than this monstrosity on those stupid rubber bands.
And doesn’t Erin live in Detroit, which is one of those major cities in between the coasts? This kind of stupidity is what I would expect from one of the NYC-based writers.
Counterpoint: the rental counter gave me a 1.0 EcoBoost C-Max. That thing is utterly gutless at autobahn speeds. Not a good choice.
I’ve whinged about this repeatedly on reviews, but mine is the giant, unhooded reflection magnet gauge cluster screens all the luxury manufacturers have started to use. I have yet to see one where there isn’t visible glare in their professionally shot promo pictures. If the photographer can’t get rid of the glare,…
The best part about getting my license was not having to be anal retentive about stuff like stopping behind stop signs and driving under the speed limit. Rolling a stop sign or driving 2 mph over would be an automatic fail on your test, but in real world driving it’s not only fine, it’s expected.
I’m amused by the cooler sitting on the snow. I understand it, but it’s still a funny visual.
Criminally understarred comment. Thanks for posting this.
Sounds like it’s more high end gaming laptop hardware, which doesn’t tend to run very long on battery, but still. Surely they aren’t running it at full blast just to provide the basic infotainment screen?
It’s a bad idea, but it definitely happens. My brother lives on a river and in the winter the local dirt bikers will throw studded tires on and ride up and down the river. I’ve also seen snowmobile tracks on a river that runs through a park where I snowshoe in the winter. Given how much of that river doesn’t even…

Can (unfortunately) confirm. I tapped a guardrail in a rental car once and it cost me exactly $0 out of pocket. Apparently because it wasn’t my car, it didn’t fall under my collision coverage so I didn’t even have to pay that deductible. A rare pleasant surprise in the insurance industry (also, my agent was fantastic…
