I was the person who opted for #6. I added a LightInSight lens to my windshield so I can see stoplights. I’m tall enough that they tend to disappear from view in every vehicle I’ve ever driven.

Ha, I totally relate to this. My parents were broke when I was little - like “needed an interest-free loan from my grandparents to avoid going bankrupt” broke.

There’s more than one page of Google results? ;-)

Agreed. I have an “As seen on tv” non-stick skillet I’ve been extremely happy with. It was the only one in the store that came with a cover, which is weird since almost everything I make in a skillet says it needs to be covered for at least part of the cooking process.

I went a long time reading this series without ever voting. I still only vote occasionally when I have a definite opinion on something. Stuff that’s borderline I tend to just read the comments. Once in a while I’ll go back up and vote if the comments really sway me, but a lot of times I just forget.

28 cents per liter is still absurdly cheap, isn’t it? That’s a fraction of what you would pay even in the US, never mind parts of the world where gas is really expensive.

Sure, but are we going to criticize the Rav4 for being too expensive because some dealer marked it up to almost 100k? Dealer markups are not universal.

Realistically you can’t buy even a pretty bare bones truck for much under $40k these days anyway, so the fact that the EV version is starting around that is damn impressive.

What do you mean? Nobody who would be interested in buying such a specific crypto would ever receive government benefits anyway.

The only time I’ve seen this is on soft stainless steel fasteners and even then it required more than just a little over-torque; the thread pitch was changed by nearly 50%.

I’ve got bad news for you: Most of the software developers working today were too young in 2000 to remember that whole thing. It also turned out to be a bit of a non-event because everyone scrambled to fix it ahead of time.

do you think USB-C is going to be the standard in 15 years?

I thought it was just so much less ... ambitious!

Keep the *bleep*ing mice out of my Corvette. I spent all of 2021 fighting with them and I’m extremely over cleaning mouse turds out of the car.

Holy cow, your parents got married in 2052? Is COVID still a thing by then?

As a lover of Saturns and Corvettes I’m here for a rust-proof body.

In terms of longevity, the battery pack in a Prius typically outlasts the transmission.

Same thing as the video game industry. Game devs get treated like shit at the big publishers because they know there’s an endless supply to replace anyone who quits. It’s a big contributor to the explosion of indie games - now that’s it’s possible for a single person to make and publish a game there’s less motivation

I did it once for a work conference in Paris because hey, free trip to Paris, right?

You can’t say we weren’t warned:
