Temperature would have been my guess as well... Their comment reads as though they’ve never been in a spot where they couldn’t afford a separate set of tires the entire time they had their license.

A dashcam! The shittiest dashcam is still better than no dash cam! Given the cost of a camera & how much it can save you in the event of an accident, it makes no sense to *not* have one in your car.
