If you’re adding the black bars, you should probably be exporting it out of Illustrator as a PNG or JPEG, not a PDF. That way you lose that underlying information as it is now a flattened image.

Another base PS4 owner here. The game was definitely buggy as hell, but far from the “unplayable” claims that were often made at launch. It crashed. A lot. But I could always load it back up and keep playing. There were two things that stuck out while I played.
