It does belong here. As Prole points out, it's allegorical and uses its tragedy to show the moral choices of the humans and Cylons as they come to grips with what has happened. You could probably argue it ended up dealing more with the Cylons coming being torn apart by the immoral choices they've made.
The Pacific. I thought it was better than Band of Brothers in a lot of ways, but was so gut-wrenching and difficult to watch at times that I don't know if I could bring myself to watch it again.
