Yeah let’s start a thread that talks shit about the Gaines’. That always make me feel better!

Dude, you and Beyonce signed a contract to become the most powerful couple in music together. Nothing about this is or ever was real, including the accusations of cheating or the contrite response to them (and at least one of her pregnancies to boot).
What’s more shocking, Chip and Joanna Gaines are liars or there’s a shit ton of drunk driving in Waco?
This entire administration is absolutely terrified of women. Can you imagine living in fear of 51% of the population?
I understand the Republicans’ feelings here. They certainly would never do anything so disrespectful like interrupt an important event involving one of our leaders.
There really are no bad people in this case.
That’s some dystopian nanny state creepiness, *even if* I agree that it’s not in the child’s best interest. It’s not my child, or the British government’s child.
So, a couple things:
First, medical care in the UK is nationalised. So, the options in country are limited as its all one system. The concept of shopping around is limited at best and often just not a thing.
Second, the institution in Charlie Gard is in is actually one of the very best pediatric medicine institutions…
“...they have been latched onto by vultures and other garbage consuming assholes and that is causing them tremendous amounts of harm.”
Crash course on medical ethics.
Charlie can still feel pain. The primary concern of his medical team was that he would undergo undue and unnecessary pain and suffering with the 1. transfer 2. flight 3. experimental treatment.
They are artificially prolonging this child’s life because they are incapable of believing the medical expertise of numerous professionals and even the doctor who performs the treatment in the US. At some point grieving parents are not the best judge of what is best for their child, it’s AWFUL but it’s how our brains…
The hospital doesn’t want them to take him because doctors, nurses and staff are in the business of not doing any harm. This continued quest for a miracle cure is ultimately harmful, not only to the child, but to the parents as well. This situation exacerbates the tremendous amount emotional trauma that the parents…
The hospital, the court appointed independent advocate for Charlie, and the judges (not the government) all agree that it is in Charlie’s best interests to stay at GOSH and receive palliative care, rather than be flown to the USA and be treated as a human guinea pig (where he would probably die on route). I am from…
The baby is in pain and dragging it halfway around the world for a treatment that wasn’t intended to treat the issues it has is cruel.
I don’t understand how they can prohibit the parents from taking the child to another hospital for treatment?
The baby will die if they unhook him. That’s the whole point: he’s being kept alive by machines.
It’s funny that you don’t need insurance until you do. It would be a shame if you got cancer!
“If this loser was so smart he would have pulled himself up from the 150 million dollars he inherited. SAD”
Less that half of all employers in the US offer health insurance. So a job is still not necessarily a guarantee of access to health insurance, much less affordable health insurance. Our system of employer based access to health care is pretty stupid.
