There are homicidal lunatics all over the globe, but there are far more of us than there are of them.
Ariana has shown more bravery than a whole lot of manly-men that trolled Jezebel yesterday.
Good for her. She deserves a lot of credit for her response to the attack and her attempt to push through all of it to provide some normality for her fans.
I’ve been alternating between overwhelming pride and overwhelming sadness these past few weeks, but overall it’s encouraging to see that the British people haven’t lost that Blitz spirit. Our way of life will win in the end.
Joining next door only confirmed that most of my neighbors are racist nimby assholes. I got a few cool free things from some people but ended up deleting the app after there was a series of posts containing pics of local homeless in an attempt to shame. My area was moderated by local idiots who seemingly didn’t care.
I think it is highly unlikely that this white professor is a racist. Anyone that knows anything about Evergreen knows that racists wouldn’t even dream of applying there. It is an extremely liberal college. It has a long history of championing civil rights and fostering progressive thought. Also, I’m not white.
Yeah what do those Jews know about oppression anyway?
Dude, those videos the students themselves posted on youtube where they are screaming at various faculty are...so...bad. They annihilate/overshadow/mitigate any legitimate grievances, which I am sure there are plenty, that some student protesters had in the realm of outsider public opinion. Especially the one where…
I got that same impression as well. Like, however meaningful or stupid you may think it is as a social experiment, doesn’t it sort of defeat the purpose if no one is around?
Why exactly should a member of this community stfu when other members of the community are expressing themselves?
This article does a poor job of explaining the situation. In years past the day of absence was celebrated by campus POC voluntarily not showing up. This year students suggested that white folk not come to…
Actually he was centered in the matter since the policy suggestion was that he (e.g. white faculty) not be on campus during the specified day. If you’re going to tell people not to come to campus, I think its reasonable to expect some will take exception to that even, gosh, speak up about it.
Yes, how dare he be upset that his work told him and everyone who shares his skin color not to come to work on a particular day.
No one should be required to STFU about their opinions, regardless of skin melanin. To suggest otherwise is racist bullshit.
The whole thing is not being explained well by the media. The school has had a bunch of mini-incidents this year that culminated in these protests. Weinstein had two different issues this year with emails about race and diversity issues on campus; in the fall he wrote an email on the faculty list-serve criticizing a…
I really don’t have a grasp as to why, beyond that generally some students supported the switch around and thought Weinstein’s objections/email was racist.
This is the message he sent explaining why he would not commit to leaving campus for the day:
Should be noted that the only ones that lost their shit were the crybullies, Bret Weinstein makes alot of sense if you care to read what he has to say.
Bret Weinstein, a white biology professor who objected to the school’s suggestion that white faculty and students stay away from campus on the school’s annual “day of absence” for students of color.
Earnest ... tossed off fiery, radical lines like “I don’t agree with [Sean Spicer] ... but I’m rooting for his success.
