And it’s Hardge... the author is Hodge.  That’s the other mixup and probably the only reason that the author was aware of this snake oil salesman.

No reason to call it a guilty pleasure really. That’s more of an honest pleasure.

It’s a confusing thing and the CT Insider article doesn’t seem to do much to explain it, so I’ll try.

I sort of see this as a way to put pressure on Perez more than anything else.  Unless Checo starts seriously bombing, they won’t want to put Danny back next to Max.  Sure, Checo has been bombing during qualifying, but he still finishes in the points (minus Monaco).

Yeah, that’s the only thing that’s kept me from doing it honestly. Though at my previous home, the entire street was flat so it was an option. Now, like I noted, if this was in SF, you hook the car on a chain, jack it up, place your dollies and scoot it some place out of the way. But since it’s a robot/car, you can’t

I don’t have a terribly long commute... actually, quite short... and this is quite tiny.  I could drive this to work and back, pick up groceries in it.  I don’t need an electric car, but I would definitely buy one of these if they sold them as minimalist as possible.

Sounds about right. No idea what his security detail is like, but if they’re made up of large French, ex-military people, then seeing someone like Brittney Spears coming for their client yelling “SIR! SIR!” (I’ll be polite, crazy white woman) is going to get you dropped.

That’s a good point... makes you wonder what deal the City made with them that keeps them from fetching more revenue by doing just that.

Well, the problem here is that the car is self driving, so it’s not ‘someone’s car’, there’s no one in it. The car belongs to a corporation that sends its robot cars out without a driver and many times those robot cars are getting stuck and causing accidents. Now the corporation wants to put MORE of those cars on the

That is actually a good question and great comparison to the dial painters (though the paint had radium in it and was WAY more radioactive). Go look at any place they make concrete or look up the hazards posed to people making it. Then go watch normal construction workers who are repairing anything made of concrete.

They’ve come a long way since their early days. Not going to be on my list of cars, but given a tight budget, today’s used car market and a 100,000 mile warranty and it’s a good choice.

No doubt. I went looking on Autotrader in that area of the world, not many options that check the boxes that I would be comfortable forking over $20k for. Most everything has over 80k on the clock. If you need a SUV and you have $20k and everything has that kind of mileage, you really should stick to whatever you can

But they’re not Dutch so you can learn to live with it.

The interview I read with the guy who was more experienced, he noted that even when they tested it off the Bahamas, the hull sounded like it was cracking as they went down. Hard to tell from the written word, but he never went down in it again and I would hazard a guess that it made even him question it. So popping

Well, definitely get the limited slip rear and go for the bigger Coyote motor for sure. I might even suggest going with the 6 speed stick since you might hit the limiter with a 10 speed auto and just straighten out and thus avoid hitting a kerb or the crowd. The taller gears in the 6 speed will let you keep the loud

Hey... try, like REAL HARD, not to hit anyone on the way out okay.

Agreed. There really should have been more research into the pressure vessel (PV) prior to making that many dives with it. CF is great, light and very strong, but it doesn’t have a great ability to withstand damage and doesn’t give you any warning that it might fail until it just explodes.

It sounds like they were most of the way down, so there’s not much down there to scavenge much of anything.

Probably a bit more complicated than that, but yes. Depending on how high off the floor they were when this happened, the currents at the time and then how each of the oddly shaped items behave falling in a fluid.

Don’t forget the instantaneous 6 tons of psi exerted on everything.  I would expect maybe bones and teeth at best could be recovered, but even some of those might not make it.
