Definitely worse. I’m considering putting rally lights on my GTI just to send a message. It feels like the late 80's again when ass-pipes would put European ‘driving lights’ on the front of their cars that were aimed directly at oncoming drivers. I countered by putting KC Highlites on the front of my 83 Datsun/Nissan

Well you wanna throw around words and all, best winter beater.

Well, the bulb is probably out... and that is most likely due to the fact that the housing for the bulb and the surrounding metal all seem to be broken and bent and the light itself is MIA. So yeah, the panels were probably removed to provide access to repair the light... but the light and included bulbs definitely

This comment makes no sense. The rich guy ain’t just calling in a stolen car with a kid in it when he’s got easier means to the same end without the ‘special attention’ part of the equation.

Really depends on what kind of paint was used, the paint additives and clear coat. And if it’s on a Chrysler product forget it.

I always assumed it meant your car perpetually smelled like spoiled milk...

It probably all depends on how you program the accelerator by wire. You can go from ‘just like a bumper car’ where it’s an on/off switch all the way to a more modern two stage pedal feel. But yeah, anything that light and it’s a potential neck snapper.

Oh I’m definitely right on this. The FIA should add 1 point per race, which will be added post season, decided by the FIA press (think MLB Hall of Fame nominations) that is awarded to the best lies that were given by the engineers at each track.

Guess we know who’s not a fan of big butts around here now.

No, no, no... totally wrong take on this. Unlike before where we would have to guess WTF might or might not be happening... now we’re going to have to speculate if the new tweak to the brake ducts are actually helping or was that really just a diversion to take our attention away from something else.

Nice take. I have a coworker with a hot rod that lives in NY State and he was quite worried about the original written law before they finalized it. I just figured he was being paranoid until I read it and thought, shit, my stock GTI violates that. Anything more powerful than that like a brand new, fully stock Camaro,

Just like most of these things, it will happen but it’s not here yet.  On the flip side of this, the electric motor and batteries are expensive as hell.  A complete conversion for a VW Beetle will run you $17k from EV West. A Beetle only weighs 1,500 lbs, for a full size American hot rod, you’re going to need more

Well, not exactly like every other VAG product. The switches in my GTI don’t click like that. They do seem to prefer to go down millimeters at a time over auto opening though. The strange part of that feature is that if you turn the car off, remove the key from the ignition, then open the door and then restart the

And no helmet, gloves or proper riding boots.  This wanna be motorcycle enthusiast is damn lucky that he’s just the laughing stock of the skate park.

I’ve done a deep dive into their parts page and they actually still make a few parts that were used on the Type 1. Nothing really of use. But the thought occurred to me when I replaced a bulb in my MKIV Golf and noticed that the stamped metal bulb housing and the plastic bulb cover looked almost identical to the one

Going with what 4jim noted, we’re talking about out of production parts. So you would either need to find a used part or NOS instead. Any automaker could scan their original blue prints to make the file or anyone with original parts could also 3D scan them to generate the file.

It’s not an F1 car, it only takes a couple of minutes.  And I’m not putting a heavy load on it, I’m going from 0-15 mph 5-10 times to get exhaust gas into the intercooler.

Might not work for all turbocharged cars, but years ago I was cleaning out the intake of my MKIV TDI and realised that the coolant from the intercooler for the turbo went directly into the heater core. Before that day, cold mornings were MISERABLE since diesels don’t heat up very quickly. Even with my GTI now, I don’t
