It’s worse than that. My co-worker’s current model Corolla is visually the same size as my ‘97 Lexus LS400 which is parked right next to it. Many people have commented on it. There is a bit of extra overhang in the front and rear, but it’s virtually the same size. (Inside it’s a night and day difference somehow)
