My first car was a first year (in the States) red Celica GT Liftback with manual wound sunroof. I’d say we were lucky kids but I worked my ass off to earn the $1300 I paid for mine.
I don’t think Torch deserved any of those comments.
I usually cover my custom creations in faux-leather that matches the factory color. It hides all of the imperfections and once you get good at gluing it down it becomes practically invisible when done correctly.
It’s British, so you get to enjoy both!
The conspicuous lack of Japanese cars was the most interesting thing for me, personally. I’ve never known an American landscape like that in my lifetime (GenX).

The design sucks, but I like it, so lets completely change it?
The first gen Tiburon was HORRENDOUS to look at. It looked like the contemporary Celica that had been allowed to melt in the sun. The pictured gen was a vast improvement.
Maintaining the panel gaps and swoops on aging 90's Japanese soap bars is far more difficult, as well.
Put some Velcro in the back and make a game out of it - how ever they land is how they ride. Upside down, whatever!
Be prepared for hair. Lots and lots of hair everywhere.
