Had to leave at around 0:17. Had to.

I was just thinking I blame Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect & Twilight) for this ish.
Thing is, they weren’t really evenly spaced before, maybe centered over the actual road surface (though a little off), but acemeteryetrical to the background of the sign. And, as others have pointed out, the tree is now the wrong shape. I like the idea of the Menorah on the U but then it’s the HOLLAND TWNNEL. I love…
“They can do other stuff too”
A few other things to consider: that tunnel doesn’t have a walkway on the side. Such walkways are needed for safely evacuating passengers and for tunnel workers to be allowed in the tunnel while traffic is passing by.
Oh yeah then there’s this:
If it were an actual test platform, they wouldn’t have drastically changed the design without telling anyone. This is a way for him to show off his $10 million dollar tunnel so that he can attempt to get money from various municipalities to institute this travesty.
This doesn’t help. It “fits” better, but at the cost of symmetry. The problem is rooted in the insistence on a tree and wreath(s) in the first place. Some garland and lights would be just as festive, and could more easily accommodate the shape of the structure.
If you aren’t hitting that pothole you aren’t contributing to its growth, making you a part of the problem.
The designer in me still really wants them to make the tree in the exact same shape of the A.
“On top of that, it’s just unsightly and ruins the holiday festivities for people to enjoy on such a great piece of architecture.”
It’s unfortunate they changed it. The old way was an accurate representation of the competence of the organization that runs it.
I long for an America where I can say “HOLLAND TONNEL” again.
A list for your dirtbag white friends (or me anyway):
“You can’t wear [x] after 35.”
“Our family is also pretty well-off” really, really helps people do what they love instead of do what they need to live.
“There are no stupid questions.”
From a probability stand-point, one of the present people MAY be the ‘1' being referenced but that’s not how statistics work. If X applies to 1/3rd of a group, that doesn’t mean if you take out 3 then X will apply to 1. It may apply to none, or apply to all 3. It’s not a guarantee that any subset of 3 will be evenly…
“Smile!” No.
I can’t even figure out what it means.
