I love the look of the 1911 and would love to have one some day. I carry a Sig P220. It is a bit heavy, but that weight comes in handy to reduce recoil. I like the fact that it is a double/single action. That remove the need for having a safety.

If you actually look at the statistics, people getting shot by an AR is extremely rare. You are better off investing your time and money in supporting your local gun owners group and/or the NRA, who teach firearm safety and how and when to properly secure firearms in the home.

Most gun owners are very aware of the dangers of guns. Because, you know, they actually use them. Especially those who go through conceal carry and hunting classes. Can’t say the same for those who base their fear on hollywood, false statistics and scary news stories.
