You gotta see it from his angle. He’s had a lot of crazy ideas for the GB franchise for decades and at this point he’s just happy to see anything GB related make it up on screen. So while I’m still a little iffy on the film myself (mostly the slapstick humor just looks baaaaad) I can see why he’s so excited and loved…

I know that he’s said in an interview that he fears aliens have abandoned making contact with us because of 9/11.... so I mean, crazy belief yeah, but it’s at least an anti-terrorism stance I guess?

Watch the 2nd international trailer, at least I believe that’s what it’s called. It’s WAY better. It still contains that painfully unfunny stage dive scene that looks like it’s a left over from an Adam Sandler vehicle, but otherwise I found the spirit of the humor (no pun intended) to be much closer to the original.

The Beastie Boys -Intergalactic and Miike Snow - Genghis Khan both sync up amazingly well. Glorious.

DOFP was hands down one of the worst X-Men movies to date. Nothing beats Wolverine Origins though.

Agreed. Though I believe the same, negative impact would have happened on the industry. Alita probably would have been a better movie than Avatar, but the take-home in Hollywood would have been the same: “make everything in 3D no matter how mediocre the film!”

I’m talking about when Project 880 was nebulous. No one specifically knew if it was Gunnm or Avatar or anything else at the time and it wasn’t until the mid 2000s that it was revealed. So the issue still stands that Battle Angel Alita has been at Fox for 15 years now just sitting on a shelf.

I will never deny the awesomeness that is Sam Rockwell. I just feel like he was sidelined by so much bullshit. He needed to be in the forefront more. I enjoyed him, just not the “use” of him.

That’s just... Sam Rockwell has a LOT of personality. He doesn’t really do much in the movie as Hammer though. He’s got maybe a handful of scenes. Iron Man 2 is cut to shit, really. Maybe they could have edited a better movie out of it but someone took a chainsaw to it.

Yes because it would be so, so hard for Mandarin (real or otherwise) or Killian to find Stark’s house even if he didn’t say it on TV. Like that’s a real criticism? Go troll somewhere else.
