And man, is the business community getting salty about this. I have seen so many passive-aggressive signs in store windows complaining that “no one wants to work anymore =( ” as if the whole problem is lazy people and not basic economics.

I feel like another real improvement would be to stop companies in a number of industries from allowing customers to bully and mistreat workers. Companies are so thirsty for every last cent that they’ll empower any and all customers to terrorize workers and make their lives miserable. Most customers don’t take the…
it always cracks me up when people point to the $7.25 minimum wage and say it’s intended for high-school age kids to earn, not for adults to try to survive or raise a family on... while they go to fast food places during lunch, shop at WalMart during a quick work break, and go see a matinee movie in the middle of…
This highlights the other problem with retail jobs: the work environment sucks. Covid is exposing a lot of the downsides to our service economy. Too bad we don’t have the national coordination to leverage this opportunity.
Conservatives only like the free market when it benefits the owners, not the workers.
1. You are not afraid? Congrats. But this isn’t about you. If you live in a bubble, be a tough as you want. If you want to be a part of society you have to accept that there are things you need to do for the good of a healthy, functioning society (many things of which you already do). Nobody wants you to be afraid. If…
“everyone is free to get the vaccine” - true, but it you don’t, you’re not just putting yourself at risk, YOU’RE PUTTING OTHERS AT RISK YOU STUPID, SELFISH IDIOT.
I had to show proof that my vaccines were all up to date to go to school. There is a precedent for requiring vaccines to participate in society.
Just to ease people’s minds, I received my second shot of the pfizer vaccine on March 9th, and as of this moment, Bill Gates hasn’t told me to do a damned thing.
Oh look, another person “just asking questions”. I love how you said one question but then asked three and then vomited up a trash opinion that is completely disconnected from reality. Get your fucking shot.
So it’s FAR more contagious, and it’s more deadly. If you’re a healthy adult who declines being vaccinated, I’m sorry but you’re a goddamn idiot.
The fact that 90+ percent of people in hospitals are unvaccinated is pretty much proof it does.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!
This might be a strange answer to some, but Harold and Maude. Nothing gives me more hope than this film, Hal Ashby's finest. Personally I think it holds up a lot better than Being There, which is also another film that makes me happy.
First answer that comes to mind is Pushing Daisies too. I’ll always come back to the show for its alive-again heart instilled in its characters, when they ache and when they have their little victories.
That trailer was a lot stronger than the first one, imo.
Fourteen years later, the kid comes out as non-binary, rendering the whole party absolutely moot.
Just another day in America.
