Yes! The lack of Frank Pembleton on this list is a crime itself.

I'm glad to see other people dig it too - when I see it mentioned, it's listed as one of Kitano's missteps. Sometimes I wonder how much of my affection for it is colored by the fact that it was the first Kitano film I saw.

Does anyone think that Brother is underrated?

Yes! Tremendous stuff.

I only read Batman and Batgirl, and I definitely didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. You could probably just pick up the Batman issues if you wanted.

Anybody remember Tin Star?

SLC is actually pretty great. Movie aside, I've seen more punks in downtown SLC than any other city I've visited/lived-in.

That milk and strawberries scene is what stuck with me most from that movie too. Tremendously powerful.

I don't know if I would say I prefer Davis over Mignola - but Davis is definitely fantastic and underrated. Have you read his Nevermen series? I highly recommend it.

Poor writing. The guy trashed Wakanda. In other titles, Black Panther wasn't even allowing mutants to fly over Wakanda (or maybe just 'cause Storm was in the plane), but in New Avengers, T'Challa calls up Namor, the guy who DESTROYED HIS COUNTRY, just because he got in a little tussle with someone. Bad set-up by

Nailed it - Beast has become totally insufferable. I find Scott Summers more sympathetic than Beast at this point - the poor fuzzy just has no joy anymore and he takes it out on everyone else. I mean, the whole premise of All-New X-Men is that Beast screwed with the entire time stream just to guilt trip Cyclops.

Do you not not like Snyder's Batman? I'm not seeing a lot of love for it around here, but I think it's in the top tier of what DC is doing right now. Layman is doing alright on Detective Comics too.

Like Sava says. Prophet is amazing. there's lots of great sci-fi comics out right now - but Prophet is the best of them.

Saucer Country's been spinning its wheels, anyway. I really dug it when it first came out, but the story seems like it stopped progressing. I was pretty close to dropping it, but I guess I'll stick it out now.

"when you put writers with artists they really want to work with on characters they love, the results are really great."

Is this intended for young adults or is it a BIG PERSON BOOK?

People take Myles McNutt seriously?

Their story is pretty ridiculous - when they were younger, in the mid-90s, they had some minor success with a couple albums. Their label tried to get them to sign a million dollar contract, but they weren't comfortable with the terms and refused. Supposedly, the label head booted them and swore that he'd make the next

"This Boy Is Exhausted" by the Wrens - simultaneously depressing and triumphant, like a lot off The Meadowlands. This is one of the great touring songs, all about the anxiety of the grind combined with the joy of performing.
