The lion v6 was originally developed by ford.... I am sure if they used it again they would re-engineer it again for f150 duty.

This is by FAR the best thing I have read on Jalopnik in a long time. Thank you for spending the time digging into this and writing a piece about it. I would love to see more work like this on Jalopnik.
No the Ford GT used a completely different Aluminum block and a DOHC setup. Legitimately the only thing shared was the fact that it was a 5.4L v8 with the same bore spacing.
I don’t know why everybody runs to the hellcat twins when they think about overpowered underchassied (sic?) cars the sure the GT500 has 40 less HP but its AT LEAST 500lbs lighter and has a stick axle.
I know pretty much nothing about bikes, can someone explain the benefits/drawbacks of the front swingarm dealio vs a normal fork?
Jay honestly seems like a cool guy and his collection is amazing. On top of that the restorations and builds he does/has done are very cool.
Nope. Trust me most of the engine design and engine calibration teams are in the states. They did some work in dunton too but the heavy lifting was mostly done in the states and Ricardo. Logically think about it for a second. Would it make more sense for the team that originally designed, mapped, and calibrated the…
The 2.3 engine in the RS was developed in the US although Ricardo US did help some. It was really just the suspension that was done in europe.
LOL “Far exceeds in torque” you’re kidding right? You can get the frikin 3.5TT in the explorer it would absolutely blow this thing out of the water.
Uh it also has the torque vectoring AWD from the Focus RS but I dont want to do your job for you or anything...
You realize the continental is still coming right??
It gets the torque vectoring AWD from the RS according to autoblog.... WHHATTT???
1st gear. : yes please so much work goes into meeting both standards and testing for both standards, the new EU regs are pretty darn strict now and I have to think that they could come to an agreement with the EPA.
This thing is so heavy. Something like 2000-2500lbs heavier than the F150 which I’m sure will make towing 12k more compfortable but dang thats a lot of weight to haul around otherwise.
Convert the voodoo to run on diesel and offer it only in a manual and only in the “kodiak brown” from the f150
“This Lamborghini Gallardo looks freaking tacky” FTFY it looks great stock we dont need to F&F it out.
Oh man number 1 yeah.... its getting worse as the used cars get cheaper too.
No twin turbo V6 no care.
I’m sure they will chevy did it with the colorado im sure Ford will follow suit.
Came here to say this, based on a rwd sedan platform with a quad cam v8 this thing was actually pretty good to drive according to the reviews (I remember it beating an x5 in some review) but obviously they went down a different (and probably more profitable) road
