Except in this instance there was no crash or damage from an action that would certainly have caused a crash in almost any other car.

People do in fact fall asleep at the wheel all the time. Sometimes they crash into their fellow motorists. At least in this case the system everyone is railing on kept everyone safe (even the presumed idiot).

Tesla already HAS that timer. You must interact with it every so often or else it’ll eventually stop the car and turn on hazzard lights. Just as you described minus the eyeball monitor. Yeah, people shouldn’t fall asleep while driving. It happens literally every single day in all kinds of cars that won’t avoid an accident. Those are guaranteed crashes. The plus here is that the system worked well enough to prevent a collision.

Anything printing a name or barcode or any combination of the above can be hacked to record an official vote different from what is printed on the receipt. If people are going to have to hold on to their receipts I’m afraid this might make it easier for people to buy or intimidate votes a certain way.
