It seems to me that a design like this one would mitigate a lot of the push back from political and social pressures. You could make the towers shorter, have fewer moving parts, and also harness wind from any direction without re-orienting the entire turbine. Not to mention that fact that the smaller footprint would

Deacon Frost anyone?

"As for the integrity of the wind farms themselves, current turbines can withstand wind speeds up to 112 mph (180 km/h) — the range of category 2 to 3 hurricanes"

I was always partial to the super star destroyer. That first scene you see Vader's SSD in Empire is just a giant screen of awesomeness.

I'm glad someone else thought of that one. I think so far as universes go, that one was one of the more amazing with a great back story and visual but the music is what always left me most impressed.

I have to add the Valley Forge to your most excellent selections

And a fantastic game series, to boot.

Not mentioned yet, and I love this thing:

All you youngsters are a bunch of visionless numpties:

Maybe not one of the greatest but still one bad-ass ship with many, many little bad-ass ships...

I always found this image of Cygnus floating amidst the stars to be exactly what a space ship would look like

So we can expect the AGW gullible will stop pointing to every mild winter as "proof"? And every hot summer? And every bad hurricane? And every tornado.? And every flood? And every drought? If those things matter, then record cold temps matter, ice build up in the arctic and antarctic matter (as happened this year).

What is "normal" here? We get this kind of cold snap ever five or six years. A week or so of cold snowy weather once every few years for as long as I can remember. It never hangs on very long, and it's usually only one episode. Historically this is not unusual.

Brooklyn will not be underwater in 100 years. Won't be underwater in 1,000 years. The poor eco-wackos... who pine for Brooklyn to turn into Atlantis. All that hope, wasted. Alas.

lol no.

Everything looks so inefficient...

I completely agree... this film should have worked, but for some reason it just fell flat with me. Maybe because it was so drastically different, or just not that well done. Meh all around.
