I really like the fact that this feature has made the Merriam Webster website a lot more relevant to me.

I think you’ve missed the larger point amidst (to some degree) a good discussion about police powers. Apple is blocking a vulnerability. You’re suggesting law enforcement have a way in.
Torch said a defacto ban on Asian RHD cars, making statements that this really meant Japanese RHD cars. And then a bit farther down said “or even Indian RHD...” as though India isn’t a part of Asia.
“In fact, specifying any location of origin at all nullifies any argument that the attempt to ban RHD cars is some sort of safety issue—if it was, then why not ban British or Australian or Indian RHD cars as well?”
This always reminds me of the Ford Contour SVT with its extrude honed intake. Apparently in that car’s V6, extrude honing added 5 hp to the crank, going from 195 to 200 hp between 1998 and 1999.
The only words I can make out in that delicious looking picture are “coon” and “premium”.
Pedant here, Torch. Technically Indian RHD cars would be Asian...
I’ve had a troubleshooting methodology for problems for years now that I refer to as “The 3 Rs.”
That just made me realize that there’s nothing wrong with the sYc. That just makes it a SICK CAR, MAN. You know, sYc? Sick? SICK?
Roughly, dude. I said roughly. Now you’re just splitting hairs with someone who generally agrees with you because you want to debate 100 hp over a range of 2000-6000 pounds. I’m trying not to bog down in discussion about how torque is actually more important than HP in most cases.
Roughly. Depends on vehicle weight along with other factors and it’s just easier to boil it down to a simple number for the sake of discussion without splitting hairs and still leave enough “fun” power on the table. Yes, lightness is a factor. 400HP in a Miata is pretty pointless, not so much in a Land Rover.
Vinyl stickers on noses look tacky and only made worse by today’s overuse of the aesthetic, with exceptions. Much like overuse of sidewall letters on tires. I’m familiar enough with the history of Yenko and its custom cars.
I’ve been saying for years now that there is a rough sweet spot of about 400hp where any excess beyond that is completely pointless on the street. I absolutely stand by that. Tapping into any more than about that is an exercise in how often and/or how severely you want to break existing traffic laws and how seriously…
I’ve been telling people that they need to learn skills that bring value to the table when the electricity goes out. Shuffling around piles of virtual money doesn’t exactly rank high on the list of those valuable skills.
Is it just me or is that “sYc” on the nose of the car kind of... tacky.
“That drop in sales from over 25% in 1995 to less than 4% in just 13 years is a huge difference.”
Sadly, not voting for career politicians is partly responsible for putting Trump in the White House in the first place.
We are in a vicious feedback loop and have been for a few decades, it’s only been accelerating in recent years.
I think a stock Nissan GT-R is a good benchmark for when a car has crossed over from sensible and quick to stupid fast and pointless on the street.
TL;DR. Saw picture of Olds for $12.5k, came in just to vote crack pipe.
