The poor sot stuck in the middle seat gets both armrests.

As a broad-shouldered guy (well, just generally broad now), I take it for granted that I’m going to get bumped by every piece of luggage going past me towards the rear of the plane. Maybe if the aisle were wider than a piece of notebook paper, that wouldn’t occur.

Business Travelers are not always fine. Sometimes they think they can “hack” the system to gain a few seconds, or think the rules don’t apply to them because they travel SOOOOOOO much.

If I’m in line for the only toilet on the plane and they usher some rich asshole in front of me, I’m ready for for some Lord of the Flies shit to go down.

I will applaud that you took any effort to protect your fellow travelers from your germs. People who cough out into the air without covering their mouth should be thrown off the plane in mid-air. I’m also of the belief there should be masks and full body condoms for the ill.

I’m sure the parents would prefer that too. But sometimes there’s little choice.

You’d prefer they allow the infant to scream their head off?

“I’ve flown with a 24-hour flu”.

Yes exactly. Taking a vacation does not really help. I work seven days a week across two jobs and I am completely burned out. Earlier this year I took a week vacation to Alaska for my 30th birthday. I came back to work and everyone was like “You should feel so much better now! All rested and relaxed right?” And I felt

I think that thinking positively about sick time is more common than it should be - I ended up in the hospital for 5 days about two weeks after my youngest was born. I didn’t have maternity leave so had already gone back to work (creating the complications that led to my hospitalization) - I had five days in a

Of course it’s a real condition. A friend of mine burned out from trying to single-handedly run the business she’d launched for 2 years, after her initial partner quickly left to another country. Basically it was too successful, so she barely took any vacation time and felt obligated to her “baby” (aka her company).

I had sick leave for six weeks last year and while it sucked to be recovering from an illness, I had a legitimate reason not to work and just “be.” Unfortunately, my thoughts keep returning to, “Well, if my sickness comes back, that wouldn’t be so bad because I wouldn’t have to work for a bit”

You are right, there are people who love their job/career and still experience burnout. I imagine things like therapy are much more effective for that population.

I’ve been burnt out for a while. I think worse than not liking my job is the feelings of guilt and shame that come with it. I’m finally making “decent” money and my job conditions aren’t the worst; I’m luckier than most. Still, I’m not doing anything I enjoy and I’ve never felt more disconnected from myself and my

I work in veterinary medicine and we have to take a yearly course on how to identify and treat burnout in ourselves and also how to recognize it in our coworkers. It’s been helpful and vital to me and I think pretty much any field could use the same requirement.

If burnout causes me to resemble the stunning painting, then sign me up!

My parents came from poverty. As soon as they were old enough to work, they did it nonstop like their parents. My parents missed nearly all concerts, games, recitals, plays, etc. The only thing they did make it to was parent/teacher conferences, which were never a good thing. Vacations were out of the question because

Here to say A) Yes, good. Burnout is real. And B) Thanks for the work you do, Lauren and all the Jez crew... your work makes our work more bearable. Wishing you some nice paid time off and a minimum 10% raise this coming fiscal year!

I think you need to reread the article.  The WWE hired less-qualified stuntmen because they were willing to work for a lower rate and cut the corners the WWE asked them to.

So that guy dedicated a year of his life forming a fake friendship in order to get back at the guy who . . . spoiled a movie?
