I'm incredibly jealous of X1 owners because Red Dead Redemption is backwards compatible starting today. I played a bit on my ps3 this week and it's still amazing and fun as hell to play.

Small nitpick: 1.66:1 was actually pretty common outside France. My school books referred to it as European widescreen, but there were some American films shot in the format as well. Off the top of my head Barry Lyndon would be the most famous, and I think Hitchcock used the ratio too.
