I am sure they will talk it over. The show loved those Barry/Iris scenes. The point is that they have a mental understanding of their actions where all that much explanation is not needed.

It's a breakup. Shit happens. It wasn't even a full breakup. It seemed fairly clear that Barry was in a terrible head space. I don't know how much more is there to explain because as heartbreaking as it was, I think iris knew what was going with Barry.

The little to no effort is the part that's wrong. The whole season is basically people beating up on Barry on his mistakes. So I fail to see how everything works out for him with little or no effort.
