I think you're over estimating the cost of an HDMI switch. Even in power saving mode, the physical act of spinning a disc and reading data off it will outweigh the cost of getting a switch. Also, having to turn on 2 separate devices requires more effort than using a basic switch.

That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. The money required to run both consoles for any extended period of time could be better put to use buying a HDMI switch. Your power bill will thank you.

Been playing through it on a pretty mid-range rig on Ultra at just a little under 60FPS. Only concession I made was turning Texture Filtering all the way down as I was unable to notice the difference between low and ultra. Also, VSync and Mouse Acceleration off which made the game control much more smoothly.
