I think it’s important to note that there are people from a large number of marginalized groups who have been putting in work on behalf of their communities and the individuals who support them. As a black woman, I agree with the statement, “listen to black women.” I also agree with the following statements, “listen

As a person of color, it really bothers me when other POCs misrepresent the nature of encounters that deal with racism. Cho’s basic argument is forceful enough without making Swinton sound like some hate monger. It delegitimizes her point and makes her seem untrustworthy. Swinton’s response is problematic enough

The only scenario where pushing the baby’s head back up is appropriate is when the umbilical cord comes out before the baby (cord prolapse). It’s called elevating the fetal head. It’s done to keep the head from pressing on the cord and cutting off oxygen to the baby. However, if this is done, the woman is taken

Ah, so we put rapists in leagues now? Are we talking about a farm team system like baseball or is it more like comparing the NFL to arena football?

Yeah, but she didn't say that what she described never happened did she? He physically assaulted her and forced himself upon her. Whether or not we use rape as a legal definition or as a description of how the event felt, he did it and he's in no place to throw shit around.

She didn’t recant. She simply said she didn’t mean rape in a “legal” sense and from her description at the very least he engaged in a pretty horrific assault upon her. She is free to characterize the abuse in any way she sees fit, but I think it is telling that Donal Trump’s lawyer responded by saying a man can’t rape

I guess nobody told Becky with the good hair that much like the North, the Beyhive remembers.

I know nothing about their relationship but I do know that if I had a dollar for every time a perfectly normal date night turned into either me or my partner losing our collective shit in public I wouldn’t need to finish medical school. We love hard, we fight hard, we make up harder. Yeah, it’s messy and not a good

Yeah, but the first time around you said “most BW have little chance of getting married” not black women are least likely to get married which is a sketchy statistic anyways and promotes a false stereotype of rampant single motherhood and absentee fathers in the black community.

She actually looks pretty great in that photo. No tea, no shade

They are indeed sisters. The younger one is adopted. Their mother has spoken out about the controversy and tried to give more context to the whole photo shoot.

I'm no GWB fan but if you're going to talk about work in Africa there a few recent presidents who so actively engaged in African development and AIDS work. I might even go so far as to say that as president, he did more for Africa than Obama in terms of dollars given and policies enacted.
