There’s a thing in Portuguese called a “gambiarra” that explains a lot of things about Brazil that these cars exemplify. Using a hollowed out cinderblock as a tiny barbecue grill is a classic example - as a developing country, making more from less is important. Brazilians are resourceful and inventive because, well,

Early 996s had a beefier IMS with few to no issues, and in any case IMS failure is more typical of low-mileage garage queens more than driven cars. They generally go bang well before 100k miles from everything I’ve looked into (and I had a 987 for a couple years so read a ton before buying it) so this one is most

Low quality office TP is also a major issue. Personally, my ideal is post-coffee pre-shower on a slower morning.

The E36 M3 convertible could also be had in this price range in good shape. I had one and loved it, as a non-primary vehicle it would be a great choice

I will note that the plural of anecdote is not data”

VWAG's seat game is the best in the industry, right? The regular Porsche seats are great, the Audi diamond quilt is great, and the GTI plaid seats are a reason to buy the car.

I had a 99 convertible. Fantastic car, I did a lot of aftermarket stuff in the OEM+ vein: BBS wheels, moderate exhaust, mild coilovers, some interior alcantara, shifter, etc. Sounded great and drove beautifully with the benefits of a convertible.

I firmly believe the SKX007 is the single best value for money watch there is, period. The movement and accuracy, build quality, water resistance/indestructibility, and classic style are unbeatable.

I bought a new Fiesta ST in 2015.

“I wish I was in Norwalk Ohio”

Counterpoint: Audi RS wagons and M wagons that sell (and well!) in Europe but are not offered or sell poorly here

Excellent answer. I’ve always loved the look of these C30s.

I really like the white silver, just wasn’t sure I could live with it daily, plus cleaning concerns... I rarely can wash my car. Agreed on a lighter/brighter blue; that would be ideal.

Night blue over plaid interior. SE now has the old performance pack stuff (diff/brakes/etc) and gets the fancy lights (sooo bright and turn with car) and sunroof. If I custom built one from factory, it would have been this exact car honestly.

the 2018 SE is my goldilocks. Picked one up a few weeks ago to replace a Fiesta ST and love it thus far. Sooooo nice and really rips when you want to. The diff is a thing of beauty that has changed my outlook on FWD.

In the US maybe, especially if you’re in the Ny/NJ region. But that’s not what was said-

“German clubs sans Bayern have been awful this year in Europe”

The Bundesliga beats Serie A in terms of revenue, actual attendance, and TV viewership.

I bet you drive a 996

“Harley-Davidson, as we have assiduously documented, is in trouble. Primarily because they’re customer base is old and getting older.”
