Thanks … the more you know … :)

Well said!

¡Ja! Mi español no se ha utilizado en mucho tiempo. Honestamente, lo leí y escribo mucho mejor que lo hablo. Mirando las telenovelas es parte de mi práctica.

I loved the original Betty La Fea - it's what got me into telenovelas although I hated the ending. And the sequel Ecco Moda was pretty forgettable.

I am watching Que Pobres Tan Ricos, and I rewatched Por Ella, Soy Eva over the holidays. Both are pretty bad but it really is the writing. The actors do amazing things with some really, really, miserable writing.

I am re-watching one of Jaime Camil's telenovelas and holy cow, I had forgotten about the pacing. He's a joy to watch but 172 episodes, geez!

Okay, one other thing that bothers me: Michael is a sweetie, but how is he a detective in the narcotics unit? Two years ago, when he met Jane, he was a patrol officer walking the beat and responding to noise complaints. Do people advance that quickly in law enforcement?

Loved that line from Lena!

Such a missed opportunity! A hurricane episode and we don't get a wet t-shirt scene?!?

So while I still adore this show more than just about anything (it's reaching Sleepy Hollow - Season 1 proportions), this is the first episode where the breakneck pacing annoyed me. The writers pack so much in and close so much out in a single show. I wanted to see Jane offer to give up her job for Frankie. I wanted

Interesting - our local CW affiliate never showed the English language adverts.

Loved Gina Rodriguez' acceptance speech on Sunday night, and related CW/CBS' willingness to not shy away from the Latin culture of it all. I have all of the episodes as part of a season pass on Apple TV, and while re-watching, I stumbled crossed a very earlier trailer where Alba (Ivonne Coll) is English-speaking. It

One of the subtle things I loved in this episode … and about the show in general is the development of Rafael's character. You clearly get why he is Jane's fantasy (Justin Baldoni is waaay fit) but in this episode it becomes clear he is more than the run-of-the-mill himbo. There is some depth and sensitivity

On your last point - it really is interesting (at least to fashion-inclined me) to watch how the wardrobe has changed with each character's arc- especially Xo. She feels/looks more "grown-up."

That is still hands-down one of my favorite scenes - Xo dropping to her knees and saying a full Hail Mary. That and Rafael's "Oh, the strip club on Biscayne?" line in response to Jane's clam shells. As a former resident of Miami who has been to one of those establishments, that made me giggle.

I think special recognition also goes to the costumer who picks out his sweaters. Damn, that boy is fit!

So thanks for the heads up on the podcast! I fear I am totally crossing into fangirl mode for Gina. She is delightful and I want her to be my best friend.

I sort of agree. I think they could linger a bit more. But I wouldn't want to see the show turn to traditional, soap-opera pacing, say something like, Desperate Housewives. That kind of flow would make its now charming ridiculousness grating. Right now, the WTF moments come so quickly, I don't have time to roll my

So I have decided I want me and Mr. Dancer to start dressing like our protagonists. Love Jane's dresses and Rafael's shirt game has consistently improved and is decidedly less Bruce Banner than in the first episodes.

Best ridiculous exchange of the night: "They're fake, if that's what you're wondering." "No, I am wondering what my girlfriend is doing between them." Gah! I enjoy this show so effin' much!
