Yup and typically those drivers run with established teams with an established inventory of equipment. Whereas a team like DRR has to basically buy everything for one race. The ability to spread out the overhead costs across a season versus a single event makes a difference.

FYI I believe the overhead for a team is north of $1m. Even indy 500 only teams.

When every single sentence the character uses ends with desu it becomes a tick. It may have a legitimate translation to a real word, but the context in which I’m familiar with it (among others) makes it a tick.

Did that guy from the Denver Post give them the idea?

On a related note. I’m almost certain I heard ikkea ikkea (e-kay) a lot which is GO GO GO.

There are so many reasons to not be OK with Bernie. Remember the knockout qualifying we had to suffer through at the beginning of last year? You know Bernie charged races such massive sanctioning fees and pocketed a pile of it? You know he took a bribe and somehow got out of going to jail for it? How can anyone say

I think desyo might be right or a “tick.” In a LOT of anime characters are given a speech tick such as one character who says desu after everything in Prince of Tennis. I’m not sure what it translates to, but I do believe , right? is probably the correct translation for desyo. Given the context I believe you’ve

Which is why it stood out to me. That is easily one of the most bizarre calls I’ve heard in a sporting broadcast on that basis alone.

not bad lol

For a while I edited subtitles for a couple of different fan-sub groups before crunchyroll came around. At that point I almost did take a class for it, but the kanji was too intimidating and I didn’t want to be able to speak but not read.

I’d argue a formula 1 car. I believe the Force India has over 70 elements to their front wing. If you’ve seen the Mercedes barge boards it looks more like a medieval weapon than a part of a race car.

I’ll buy that. If I had to hazard a guess I’d bet on Sato being very common.

How many times during the 16-17 regular season did a team go an entire period without registering a shot on goal? Let alone almost 2. I’m guessing zero.

Oh yeah. There are plenty of others I picked up on, but didn’t think they were particularly interesting. It was nice being able to at least understand what was being said though.

Usually a homer broadcast still broadcasts the event, but just with colored lenses. These guys were fans cheering Sato along. There wasn’t much in the way of information.

I watch way too much anime for someone my age. I understood a lot of that because they were pretty much using 1 or 2 words at a time. One I picked up was kami. Which translates to a higher power/god. I wish I could have picked up the context in which it was used, because I’m about 95% sure it wasn’t something like omg.

I’ve seen the replays and I’ll wholly agree with Howard. An extremely late move put him into the grey and into the wall.

Your Audi answer really was good so you get a pass. The other 4 do not.

Well... anyone but Sharapova.

This bug has existed for probably 8-10 months now. I can’t be the only person in the world who figured it out lol. Still I shall report it.
