Same, what confuses me even further are the legions of other white dudes who bend over backwards to identify technicalities that can be used to construct some elaborate justification.
For example:

My favorite is the social media outcry of them being stopped by police for not having a mask on and complaining about the audacity the police have to stop someone minding their own business and infringing on their rights.

I think the protests are also, weirdly enough, a symptom of a group of people who have a desperate desire to feel martyred and oppressed. It’s almost comical how white middle class people (and I say this as a member of said white middle class) are jealous of other groups’ marginalization. I mean, you can see it in how

“What I love is how ANY and EVERY white person is deputized to enforce their version of the law when they see fit.”

“HOW DARE YOU EXPECT ME TO TAKE REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY!!!!! IT’S TYRANNY!!!!! Wait a moment what’s that black person doing walking unarmed in public!?”

What I love is how ANY and EVERY white person is deputized to enforce their version of the law when they see fit. BUT when the ACTUAL LAW is applied like, say...requiring them to stay inside for their own safety, well then that’s governmental overreach. Lord knows we cannot step on their Constitutional rights.

The most amazing part is that the owners have gotten the fans to become so wrapped up in the logic of their penny pinching ways (“Well of course they shouldn’t spend that much money on players who hit free agency. They’d be paying for past production. This man is due for a regression.”) that they’ve lost track of the

they gotta kill the rookie contracts, it’s the only real counter to this bullshit collusion of just not paying anyone who hits free agency

That is an excellent point. Going into this game I’m sure the New England Patriots were going to give it maybe 75%. I mean there’s a lot of pressure to win, and Belichick runs a pretty tight ship, but it gets cold sometimes and it’s late in the year, and I would be willing to bet they just aren’t properly motivated.

I disliked this film when I saw it on Saturday. Now, with some time to reflect, I’m really hating it. Who was Snoke? Fuck you, it doesn’t matter. Who’re Rey’s parents? Screw off, it’s irrelevant. Here’s some wacky hijinks at an interstellar casino, suck it up and enjoy that, you dipshit Star Wars fan.

So Disney will have two streaming services, Hulu and whatever they come up with.

What is it about Russell Wilson that makes people so goddamn dumb, even apart from Benoit? Benoit is taking a dump all over a tremendously exciting, talented, accomplished player for no good reason. He leads his team in rushing for crissakes!

Jesus. I’m a Lions and by extension a Stafford fan, but good god if I could choose between Stafford and Wilson, even I’d pick Wilson. How is that even in any realm of possibility a choice? He’s actually been to fucking Super Bowls! Anyone who makes a take as stupid as Benoit needs to be fired out of a cannon into the

I hate the Seahawks, and think Russel Wilson is an annoying douche.

No no. No jokes when someone might lose a leg. Go to the corner for a timeout

Reading this article reminded me of that one really funny column Simmons did, but now I can’t find it anywhere.

I know most won’t consider bowling a “real” sport. I won’t argue that, not while it’s apparent that one can be inebriated and overweight while performing at a high level...HOWEVER, a 900 is the stuff of legend. Tip of the hat to that guy.

Yeah, I can’t imagine why they would’ve wanted to cast a fuckboy for a character who is a fuckboy.

He’s the most singularly gifted athlete of an entire generation, and that’s not even the most interesting thing about him when you consider how brilliant the dude is

Man, I love LeBron James. He’s a guy with virtually no formal education who has taken control of his platform to maximize his leverage at every single turn: he’s got a seat among billionaires and isn’t “feeling lucky just to be here.” I hope he becomes a gazillionaire and buys the league.
