You're right about high beams not being a signal to turn their lights on, but I'd also like to add that where I'm from, high beams are also a symbol for "there's a cop up there, watch your speed." (and yes, I know it was mentioned in the article)

S to N is also the "standard" reading direction for roadway plans, so it makes sense to me that the highway numbering would increase with stationing.

FYI, non-commercial vehicles (RVs are excluded) are not permitted to use hazards while moving where I live (not sure if it's the same in every area). I get that you're trying to be nice, and you're never going to get pulled over for it, but you might want to check the rules in your area.

As a transportation engineer, it is shocking to me that these are “little known rules.”

You know what really flabbergasted me? My wife had no idea that dotted lane lines in through lanes (very short lines with very short gaps as opposed to the typical long lines and long gaps for broken lines) mean that the lane will

I hate the closed nature of iMessage, and I hate even more the refusal of iPhone users to adopt cross platform alternatives.

Except it’s not. Indian is actually the tribally accepted term in “your” culture pretty much universally. It’s a heck of a lot more accepted than any other generic term, especially when compared to ridiculous attempts to be PC like “Native American.”

Indian is an accepted term by Indians. Native American is only

Now this is an article I canine get behind.

The Tesla method only ensures that customers get costs ADDED to their purchase. Tesla is saying, “We won’t haggle with you. You just have to accept our price.” And you know they’re covering themselves with their pricing structure.

I like what they’re doing from the perspective of cutting out haggling, but it’s naïve

My car-buying practice.

Buy something that is at least 8 years old with ~12k driven per year.
Don’t pay more than $7500.
Always buy cash.

I handwash and dry my knives. Always have. Even stainless can rust in the dishwasher. The particular set of knives I have is especially prone to rusting problems, so that keeps me in the good habit of washing/drying right away.

Counterpoint: This article is bad. Your next one could be worse.

Not that I agree with bigoted mindsets, but I have a problem with what you’re saying.

Treating ANYONE as something less than you are is wrong. Being insulting and hateful is wrong. The mindset that you can treat someone poorly because they treat others (or you) poorly is wrong, and it will not solve any problems.

I wish stupid Kinja would let me edit. I forgot that the NBA has special rules for the last two minutes regarding delays of game. This should have been a tech on Ginobili.

You’re right. That quote is not in the rulebook. However, what the rulebook does state very clearly is that this is a delay of game penalty on Ginobili, which is an automatic technical in the last two minutes of the 4th or any OT periods.

So, it was a foul on Ginobili by rule. Not a foul on Waiters.

It was a delay of game. Not a T. Second one would have been a T.

Edit: NM. I forgot the NBA had an exception for being under two minutes left in Q4 or OT. It should have been a T.

Glad someone pointed this out. It would have been a travel if he had landed, but not just for jumping. You can pivot, you can jump. You cannot switch pivots, you cannot land from a jump with the ball still in your possession.

At most other levels, there is no such thing as traveling on an inbound. There is just a 3-ft

I don't think it's a foul on Waiters at all, actually. Ginobili, by rule, is not allowed to be in that space.

I don’t think a first time delay of game penalty can be a tech, actually.

I don't have the rulebook memorized by any means (I probably know it as well as any of these refs, though), but that has been my general understanding of delay of game penalties.

This is why I don’t watch the NBA any more.

On virtually every play, there are literally a handful of blown calls that could go either way and all of them can potentially change the outcome of the game. Basketball is impossible to play without committing a ton of fouls/infractions. Basketball is impossible to

I highly doubt a high schooler would be 19 in a fall sport team photo. That would mean he could have potentially been 20 at graduation (or near 20). There aren't very many scenarios that have a 20-year-old in high school.
