Isn’t making the exterior look older than it is, the same sort of end-result of doing a restomod where you upgrade everything but the looks? It’s still a modern car underneath.

Sure. They might want to cultivate such an image, but this will be yet another luxury SUV.

It is going to the Middle East? What a great time to go visit that part of the world.

Didn’t Porsche make tractors at some point?

Yes, if it is good stainless. Someone in this thread said it was grade 301, so it is not good stainless steel. But yes, if you oxygen starve stainless steel, it will corrode. As a rule of thumb, the higher grade, the quicker it will corrode when it is starved from oxygen. And a wrap will do that just as well as paint.

Yes. Go take a magnet to 304 stainless screws in a shop. It’s the go-to “trick” to see if they’re low quality when buying screws for your boat. So you may be studying materials science, but you need to study harder.

Nah, still as irrelevant to the story as ever.

So, wait, he is actually claiming that you can “probably” get an FSD equipped car to drive you home safely even if you’re super drunk? That is actually what he is claiming.

Absolutely nobody cares about that irrelevant nugget.

301? LOL, I made a comment earlier that they probably used a lesser steel than 304. But 301? Holy hell.

You don’t clear coat actual stainless steel. Two words: Crevice corrosion.

That’s actually a problem. Stainless steel rusts incredibly fast when oxygen starved (look up “crevice corrosion”), so painting it or plastidipping it will only (for a very short while) make it look good. It will corrode and pit superfast under the paint or dip. That is one of the reasons you don’t use stainless steel

low grade stainless - 304 and lesser will still attract magnets.

Good stainless steel, such as 316, 316L and those in the 400-series don’t really suffer from corrosion other than crevice corrosion (i.e. oxygen starvation), which makes it impossible for it to form its protective layer, as it needs oxygen to do that.

Muskrats, if you prefer.

That nice looking windshield going that far forward is not going to happen due to pedestrian laws and the difficulty of making it meet those requirements.

regarding the update:

Even if verified, you shouldn’t trust it. The blue “verified” sticker is only, and solely - an indication that someone paid $8 to Musk. And if a company, someone who supports Musk with $12k/year. It has no significance whatsoever as to whether or not the person/account is who they say they are.

LOL, sure thing, “Katey”

Fisker seems to look Musk over the shoulder to see if they too can fail upwards.
