    Welfare does not “subsidize” Walmart, it RAISES the price that Walmart has to pay for labor. If you believe in the progressive tax system then you should understand why this is true. A $30k/yr paycheck is worth LESS to someone who has another source of income (welfare) than it is to someone who does not.

    The “pain funnel” is a fundamental and extremely common sales technique where by you try to find out what the customer wants (or what causes them pain) and attempt to find a way to alleviate that pain in exchange for money. Done correctly both the buyer and seller end up better off than before their encounter.

    Yeah because Turkey is a libertarian paradise, these refugees aren’t fleeing fighting funded by governments and certainly aren’t going to places where their entire lives will be subsidized by governments.

    That isn’t true though. The 70k they were charging for a BA is not far off a typical public university. Likewise many public universities have 50% graduation rates. Also, unless I missed something the accreditation issue is fairly recent.
