I think you misunderstood what he said about Peter and Kola. He’s accusing Kola (not Peter) of writing a letter to Real Madrid and selling fake stories to tabloids. And goes on to say that he wouldn’t say anything about Peter’s behavior because he's dead.

Ok if that’s youre choice Waino then get out. You’ve been awful for years now anyway but no one has said anything. You don't deserve the best fans in baseball you trader

These are great, but for me, nothing compares to the intensity she brought to the last minute of the studio version of Silver Spring. It's tremendous but not "overacted." Furious but focused.

She doesn't dress like a man at all, though.

No Alanis fans here tonight? Eh, fuck it.

"I couldn't help it, it's all your fault." - Loren Rowny

I hate to see him lose early, but he's in good shape and there's always next year. Indian Wells giveth, and Indian Wells taketh away.

Ben Wyatt is garbage and the worst part of this otherwise perfect show. He even almost made Leslie unbearable for a season.

Jennifer Barkley and Orin were inspired choices.

The only good list Deadspin has ever made. I can live with April being low in exchange for someone finally realizing that Ben sucks and the Sapersteins are gold.

+1 because I want this to be true.

Oh yeah, I mean, I have no doubt that there are lots of people who feel about GBH what I feel about Birdman ("wait, that movie?!"). It's pretty safe to call any hot take about a Best Pic nominee an unpopular opinion, I guess. I can't imagine not connecting with GBH, especially in the 3 or 4 moments that just come out

Your summary of Birdman is exactly what I haven't been able to put into words. Gonna steal that from you, thaaaanks.

He must have been shocked when Moonrise Kingdom got some nominations, and GBH is even more earnest despite how funny it is. I couldnt tell if GBH felt like an Oscar movie because he intended that, or just because the acting was great and, like you said, WW2 backdrop.

1. I can't believe Birdman is in this position. It was solid entertainment but I never would have guessed from seeing it that it would be a contender for these awards. I guess the industry loves the embarrassing, sniveling theme of acting being brave and critics being cowards.

He said, sporting a Ray Gillette icon.

"We're the top team in the state and if they didn't want their second- and third-place medals, I couldn't care less."

The only thing stupider than this game is the New Yorker insisting on using ë to signal a new syllable after another e, or whatever. Jesus Christ, I think people can read the word "reenter" without a phonics guide.

I use "friends who are girls" when the group being discussed has to be identified as female.
