Well they are both Israeli! And both have amazing eyebrows.

I agree. Someone should have taught that principal during her schooling that being an obsessive authoritarian asshole is not the proper way to do her job.
Just because you want to be a bootlicker in the real world doesn’t mean everyone has to.
Kinja is not letting me star you, but right fucking on. Some people just love authoritarian bullying for some reason...
“A report notes that the principal, who is female, told Summer to cover up.”
Seek help.
Hey guess what smartie? A public school isn’t a hospital or place of employment! Crazy I know.
Aw congrats, you win the award for dumbest and least relevant comment!
What? No. Why would makeup change the meaning of the song at all? She’s literally speaking out against that obnoxious “oh, you’re a cool girl because you don’t wear makeup” shit (along with other generalizations people (men) make about women as if they’re a monolith.
lolwut
Kinja is taking a star away when I try to recommend but this is such a powerful interview. Her passion and feeling is so strong and sincere. I love her sentiments about the absurdity of caring about people stealing TVs when people are stranded and dying.
For the record, I have really liked every Canadian I’ve ever met. Which is like 3. But they are all lovely, interesting people.
Defamation has always been something one can sue over, so I don’t get your point at all. If Kipnis can be proven to have damaged the plaintiff through knowingly stating untrue things about her, the plaintiff deserves to be made whole.
Very interesting dilemma, thanks for sharing. I feel like a lot of art, particularly writing, is the writer working out their own problems/experiences, no matter what race they are, so I personally wouldn’t fault a writer for that as long as they are sensitive and respectful of the peoples portrayed. Like someone…
Eh, I disagree. I think she is quite pretty (and would wager so do a lot of people). She still sucks though! I don’t really get what her looks have to do with her being a vapid, privilege-blinded mouthpiece for corporate greed and nepotism.
What up Raleigh! Thanks for the link, very entertaining. But I think the conch shell stuff was actually a joke referencing The Lord of The Flies ;)
Interesting question, I was trying to think of examples too. Ann Coulter is definitely as repugnant, but I’ve never really seen any evidence of her trying to distance her private self from her public persona. Though I’ll always prefer to think of the real Ann as the one in the Boondocks episode.
Exactly what I was about to comment. He can “clarify” all he wants, but his words betrayed him. I also notice that both in his verbal garbage during the presser and in his clarification, he mentions that Assad dropped gas on “innocent people,” which really seems to be implying that the use of gas during the holocaust…
Definitely a major influence on Tori Amos, and a lot of the same fan base, i.e. gay dudes and crunchy 90s feminists (not meant to be an insult, I am a huge fan of both of them).
Shearon Harris? If so, we were neighbors!
