I dunno what part of dtla you're thinking of (maybe the financial district?) but the historic core is bumping. I live near dozens of bars and restaurants, there's near constant foot traffic! It's no Manhattan, but it's not the ghost town it was ten years ago

I live around the corner from the Cecil, but now it’s called the “Stay On Main” hotel, haha. Trying to get away from the history, I guess!

I guess I don’t see the big distinction because those same asshole men are writing pieces for Vogue, or whoever. I personally think its a misconception that lesbians don’t have their identity scrutinized and questioned by media and friends/family, particularly if they’ve been previously linked with men.

Sorry, I don’t buy that. I’m also bi, but my lesbian friends get harassed and hit on just as much, if not moreso. Men don’t like women being unavailable to them, whether that’s a bi girl dating women or a lesbian who must “not have had good dick before".

But that’s essentially the same thing. Bi invisibility can usually be boiled down to “but you really like dudes, right?” A lot of people can't conceive of prioritizing attraction to women.

She looks 24 no matter how you dress her or part her hair. Younger, even! It’s bizarre to see her carrying a ~7 year old around.

They have one, per the article posted in a comment upthread.

I like them both but this looks so sappy and manipulative. The whole fuckin movie is in the trailer!!

Is that tech speak or WHAT? Cripes haha.

I think he means saying made up shit on the phone, but the person on the other end understands what you REALLY mean. Like, Louise talking to Mickey on the phone in the Ambergris episode!

I’m really sad about Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt. It sounds like he was a terrible partner by the end (granted just based on gossip!) :( and Sandra you deserve a considerate guy who has his shit together!!

All I'm getting from this (after further Google research) is that he is, in fact, a mega babe. Who directed Jane Eyre, which I loved! Call me, Cary.

Now you’re honestly splitting hairs. I didn’t say she was a talented singer, did I? She’s known for putting on good shows. She’s a pop culture icon. If you don’t think she should be celebrated because she can’t sing (yawn) then whatever, but that’s totally different than what you've been saying.

It's more than fair to find fault with her family and what's been done to her. I still think it's strange to say we shouldn't celebrate *her*- she has a loyal, devoted fanbase because she's a talented entertainer.

Then what? It's a bizarre thing to say with seemingly no other explanation

We shouldn't be celebrating her why? Because she struggles with mental illness?

I'm pretty sure it was a joke...

I mean to be clear, a trans girl is someone who’s assigned male at birth- I’m not suggesting Gene has a vagina haha! I’m just saying there are lots of jokes about his gender and I think it’s cool that some people choose to read it that way.

I mean, Gene could totally be trans, the shows made about a thousand references to Gene’s gender play/fluidity. I don't think OP was saying its word of God, it's just a fun (and imo supported with canon!) thing to think about

It must’ve been four or five years ago but I’ll NEVER forget someone on Gawker (Rich Lawson maybe?) calling her a lemon scented floor mop. I think of it every time I see her.
