What Dayraven said. In context of the scene, Michael turned a nice comment about the house into a creepy reminiscence about his dead wife in front of a kid, but quotes on AD frequently have two meanings.

It’s my theory that complete and total incompetence is less funny than someone who’s just competent enough to squeak by. I also like the rare occasions when Dr. Venture actually invents something or Homer Simpson displays some knowledge of his actual job.
Maeby is the MVP of these new seasons.
Instead of doing a Season 6 which would probably have a conspicuous, Jeffrey Tambor-shaped hole, maybe they could do a spin-off series with Maeby as an international con-artist.
The Buster foreshadowing wasn’t all about logical connections, either, it was things like Buster playing a claw catcher game where he won a seal toy.
He’s always been a good therapist. He just won’t you know. Do it.
Maeby was an absolute delight as Annette. Sometimes it seemed like the writers didn’t know what to do with her, but Alia really shined in this episode. I look forward to more like this in the rest of Season 5.
I think the joke of Tobias wanting to give up a good job to become an actor works better the more competent he is at therapy/counseling.
It’s not followed up on in this batch of episodes, but it really seems like they’re foreshadowing a reveal that Tracey Bluth didn’t actually die (or didn’t die in the way we were lead to believe).
Maeby as Annette is an absolute gem, as is her interactive scheming/commiserating with George Michael. I love their dynamic.
I thought the Joel Mchale show was them experimenting with that, but when they added an order for more shows, they decided to dump them on one day. So who knows man.
They should have recast Lindsay with one (or all) of the actresses who played Martha. The weird blue screen thing is terrible.
Is this the first tiny step towards Netflix starting to give in and accepting the idea that weekly shows AREN’T an antiquated, bad thing, and that maybe not everything needs to be dumped online at once?
I’ve enjoyed Tobias a lot more this season than I did in 4, where so much of the second half of his arc felt like it was going around in circles (though I absolutely love the flashbacks to show he and Lindsay’s crazed pre-GFC spending).
Yeah I’d agree with that. The pace really picks up in the last few episodes and the amount of jokes that land dramatically increases.
CHOPPA-
Did anyone else find it kind of refreshing to see Tobias displaying a degree of competence as an “analrapist” this episode? Like, he was still Tobias, but it was nice to be reminded that he was actually once a well respected licensed therapist who assumably had to work for a degree.
Please believe me, if I could turn back time .... I never would’ve answered that door.
Maeby’s Annette is the high point along with Tobias, whose analytical skills are the polar opposite of his mimicry skills.
Definition of CHOPPER
1 : one that chops
2 : choppers plural, slang : teeth
I’ve been watching and it was amazing what an aimless slog the first 4 episodes are compared to the second 4.
