Yeah I loved it when I was young but it hasn't aged well.  Go with stuff like National Parks, Prohibition, Dust Bowl, County Music and so on.  Civil War could be better and Jazz is ehhh.

I think Baseball is my favorite of his series.  I also highly recommend his early films.  Before he started making miniseries he made a string of “short” 60 and 90 minute films that are really terrific.  Huey Long is particularly outstanding.

I came here to say exactly the same thing. Fuck that piece of shit love letter to the traitorous abomination that was the Confederacy, and also fuck the late Shelby Foote and his silver-tongued Lost Cause bullshit. Oh, and fuck Burns for basically every aspect of how he built the narrative.

Now playing

It’s a little sad the Community parody is so much better than the actual series.

I think he and Bill Gates frequent the same SuperCuts.

Every time I see Ken Burns, I think “Is that real hair?”

What’s wrong with old ladies who think people should wear masks?  Explain.

Puddinghead? More like Chancellor Shitforbrains.

This is not propaganda. They’re straightforwardly right here.

It was probably a good show.

“tattle on their neighbors”

Another commenter said recently that it’s like you have to fire off a bad take or you’ll die, and I’m starting to see what they meant.

If anything, the piece was criticizing the show for filtering its Indian-ness through an American lens that tends to focus on one type of story, hence the comments about the lack of South Asians on the production team, the issues raised by South Asian critics, and the feedback from South Asian audiences.

Has Jujubee stolen your boyfriend and shat on your grandma or what is your problem, dear. You made your point twice already.

All Star is really an excuse to crown the queen who came really close to winning in their original season. Chad Michaels, Alaska, Trinity, and now Shea. The only anomaly was S3.

Well I’ve never really cared for Ru’s music (it’s white noise to me), but I think the queens did the best with what they were given. RUWU and Kitty Girl definitely allowed them to be much more of themselves with the verses and choreo, but at the very least they all hit their marks and it was entertaining enough.

You’re being very generous. “Clap Back” is the weakest song that Ru’s put out for a choreographed finale in a long time.
