I really enjoy High Brew coffee cans. The Mexican vanilla is delicious, and the sweetness primarily comes from the milk rather than added sugar. Plus, as a gay man on the go, their coffee+protein can is perfect for Friday nights.

Peet’s has a much better pumpkin spice latter though than Starbucks. The latter is way too cloying while the former is primarily about the spice without added syrup.
I have my ex-coworker’s parent’s Comcast account which includes HBO Go and Simpsons World. Every time my browser has to automatically login, I get a little anxious that they’ve changed the password.
The only book from 2018 I read in 2018 was Ron Chernow’s Grant biography (which was wonderful as all his books are and about more than just Grant but a whole reconfiguration of his strategic value in the War as well as his efforts during Reconstruction and how they were stymied). Basically this is just evidence that I…
Which they “justify” in the movie by saying Dr. Shirley didn’t keep in touch with his family, which the family says is a complete lie.
And now that they’ve diversified the Oscar voting more so it’s less likely (though still probable) they’ll vote for movies that make white people feel good about not being THOSE kinds of racists, e.g., Crash, Driving Miss Daisy.
Going from Peep Show to Hot Fuzz to lesbian queen yelling at people to look and not look at her.
Never underestimate how old and white and male and into dad rock the HFPA is.
Did they ever put the Aloha billboard in the 2016 Oscar In Memoriam reel?
Ooooh yeah, that sounds like what I read before. Because they aren’t getting paid but still would have to work?
This one and Dan Harmon’s last year are both top-notch: https://www.avclub.com/community-writer-megan-ganz-accepts-dan-harmons-apology-1822001536
Yeah, working in a place that you hate (local government) with every fiber of your being (though he later wised up a bit at least and saw SOME value) is kind of weird to me.
Oh hey, now here’s a good example of a well-done apology (even if all that might have been necessary was posting that clip’s full context).
a) Apologized for his behavior
b) Explained what the problem with his behavior was (even going so far as to explain the deeper sociopolitical problems that had him originally…
Plus that the average American probably has little idea what the federal government actually does for them since it’s largely invisible, so they don’t see themselves as “affected” despite all the second-order effects. They think that government is all about welfare and social payments and not the necessary regulation…
He must now have ins with a lot of older white women after his couple of shows with Martha Stewart.
Yep. The US would be far better off with stronger collective bargaining and unions, but right-wing anti-union propaganda helped decrease their viability in many pre-Millenial eyes. Luckily we’ve seen just how disgusting current capitalism is, how the gig economy and increase of freelancing is a death knell to the…
Oh, they know. The vast majority of public servants are left-leaning and pretty passionate people (especially higher-ups who’ve made their life work effective public policy). Strangely enough (or not strange if you think about it for more than a second), it turns out that (non-politically-appointed) people who go into…
I’d be more impressed if he played a Kazooie
She was more entitled than the Bennett’s estate in Pride and Prejudice.
