Fair point, but I think that perspective will get lost the longer we go enjoying complete air and sea superiority. We’ll get cocky enough to say “gee, the human is the most expensive part of this weapon system, let’s make the decisions from Norfolk.”
We’ve been there for decades. In fact, if you are the Tactical Action Officer on an AEGIS destroyer or cruiser, the option to have the computers totally take over, prioritize targets, and launch surface-to-air missiles all on their own is one turn of the key away. That tech has been around since the 80s.
